During the pandemic, we tried a community credit system called “Buenas Obras.” Neighbors earned credits for community tasks. While it generated over 5,000 BO in value, it taught us the limits of complex systems in a crisis. We learned that neighbors’ needs for food and medicine were more urgent than credits, leading us to shift toward simpler support like “Guerrilla Gardening” (ConVida).
